The AJAX log-in allows you to log-in to your Wikia account without you leaving the page.
Why is this important? Sometimes after logging in, MediaWiki doesn't provide you with a way back to the page you were on. More importantly, this ajax login allows you to log in while editing so you don't lose your changes.
Note: You must have JavaScript enabled in your browser to use this feature.
